Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, became the first destination in the Pacific to receive the Safe Travel Seal granted by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), a body that brings together 200 company leaders of the most important sector in the world.
“Los Cabos is the ultimate luxury destination in the Mexican Pacific, where a large number of travelers gather, especially from the North American region, who now have the hygiene protocols to enjoy their trip”, Gloria Guevara Manzo, president of the council, highlighted this Monday.
The also former secretary of federal Tourism said that the Safe Travel Seal and the hygiene protocols issued by the WTTC are based on international standards and have the support of the World Tourism Organization and the Center for Control and Prevention. of Diseases of the United States.
After the distinction to Los Cabos, the governor of Baja California Sur, Carlos Mendoza Davis, assured that he is committed to the protocols for the health care of travelers.
“Certainty and trust will be the constants of our new normal for visitors, for workers in the tourism sector and for those of us who live here,” he said.
He stressed that the tourist destinations of Baja California Sur are ready to receive travelers and thus contribute to the process of reactivating tourism in Mexico.
During the past year, the state received more than 4 million tourists and consolidated itself as one of the main travel destinations in Mexico, according to data from the Baja California Sur Secretariat of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability.
