Los Cabos, Baja California Sur – The Los Cabos International Film Festival celebrated its first decade of existence with the screening of two films online, as well as the recognition of Mexican producer Nicolas Celis. The edition is being held in a hybrid format.

This year the festival will be held for 9 days. Starting on Wednesday, November 10th with online screenings of the films “Night of Fire” and “Drunken Birds”, which were available to the public free of charge.

In contrast to two years ago, this time the festival did not have a red carpet, that is, there will be no parade of celebrities every night, because the format is hybrid, where much work has been done to offer not only excellent programming, but talks with everything related to the film industry and support for filmmakers and creators through the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund.

The inauguration was broadcast live on the festival’s official Facebook and YouTube accounts. Alejandra Paulín, executive director, and Maru Garzón, artistic director, both from the Los Cabos International Film Festival, were in charge of welcoming the audience.

On this occasion, the festival began by recognizing the outstanding work of Mexican producer Nicolás Celis, who received the Outstanding Work in Cinema – Production award from actress Yalitza Aparicio.
