Most of the COVID patients in Baja California Sur have recovered in 2 weeks; sequelae are related to the severity of the disease
La Paz, Baja California Sur (BCS). The director of Health Services, Heriberto Soto Haro mentioned that 91% of patients suffering from COVID in Baja California Sur, manage to recover in the 15 days of disability granted by the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS); however, he stressed that there is no specific time for a patient to rest after recovery.
“It is important to clarify that, on the issue of sequelae, we continue to learn […] fortunately the vast majority of patients, 91% in Baja California Surn have normally recovered within the set times, let’s say within 15 days,” he explained.
In this sense, he recalled that it is important that if a person recovered from Coronavirus feels discomfort, they should go to medical centers or report it through the telephone numbers to attend to patients, to conclude with their total healing.
“In a marked time of saying that how much time does it take to rest? It is not an allotted time, medical follow-up is important; here we call on patients to go to health institutions if they feel bad. The system has coverage in the state, we must be aware of appointments, “he emphasized.
Likewise, he said that the sequelae are related, especially to the health status of those who suffer from the disease, it is usually stronger when they were in critical condition or underwent intensive therapy.
“The sequelae are directly related to the severity of the disease, that is, those patients who have or were in critical condition -in intensive care-, of course the sequelae are more important,” he said.
Finally, he reiterated that the vast majority of patients manage to overcome the Coronavirus within 15 days: “In 15 days of disability, he manages to heal adequately from the disease.” It should be noted that at the time, the representative of the IMSS in Baja California Sur said that there were patients who lasted up to 2 months to be able to relieve themselves of the virus.
