The project will improve urban mobility
Due to the need for citizens to safely cross the Transpeninsular Highway, Los Cabos City Hall is considering the construction of a pedestrian underpass, which will be built at the entrance of Cabo San Lucas, in front of the Costco store.
As the Transpeninsular Highway is a main and federal road, the Municipality does not have the power to promote speed reduction through more common methods.
The placement of speed bumps or traffic lights and pedestrian bridges would not be a feasible option since they tend to disappear, according to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Finally, it was announced that the idea is currently being socialized with the entities involved to make the plan known, since a detailed analysis of the project is being carried out.
