From October 29 to November 2, Los Cabos had excellent figures in the flow of tourism registered in the tourist destination derived from the celebrations that were held on the occasion of Halloween and Day of the Dead. Since Saturday, hotel occupancy has risen to 75 percent.
It should be noted that, for the first time, the “Altares del Mar” Nautical Festival was held, which includes a series of activities related to the tradition of the Day of the Dead and a parade of more than 20 boats through the bay of Cabo San Lucas. They hope it will become a tradition and tourist attraction.
The executive president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association (AHLC), Lilzi Orcí, in an interview highlighted that international tourists increasingly seek to learn about Mexican traditions, especially the Day of the Dead, which is why hotels implement large shows and celebrations to attract the foreign sector.
“Hotel occupancy has remained above 60 percent in the last quarter of the year, on weekends we went up to 70 percent and on important dates up to 75, respecting the allowed capacity, which is 80 percent,” he said.
The hotel leader pointed out that, as a sector, they have already requested an expansion of the capacity and that it can be extended up to 95 percent, since the last months of the year represent a great demand in terms of accommodation and tourist services.
