For the fourth consecutive year, the La Paz International Film Festival is taking place and it kicked off with great success at a well-known movie theater in the capital city, with the premiere of the Mexican film Almas Rotas by producer Arturo Pimentel, directed by Juan Pablo Arroyo Abraham and co-produced by Raul Mendez, in which he also stars alongside actress Daniela Zavala and actor Andres Montiel.

The same were present, having in turn a great cast as Patricia Bernal and Marco Treviño also appear in the film. It should be noted that the film Almas Rotas has won more than 30 international awards.

Before the audience enjoyed the film, Broken Souls, the graduate and director of the La Paz International Film Festival Nadia Partida offered some emotional words for the actress and producer Carmen Salinas who recently suffered a stroke, a fact that has her in a coma and therefore could not be at the opening gala, for that reason the movie screen was illuminated with the best scenes of the films that the comedian has acted, a fact that started the shouts and applause of admiration from all those present.

The event was also attended by filmmakers, actors, writers and producers, as well as the Vice Consul of Guatemala in Tijuana, Judith Velázquez, since the guest country is Guatemala. Representing the Secretary of Tourism and Sustainability of the BCS State Government, Dalia Alejandra Agundez Aramburo, who is also Director of Tourism Promotion, was Víctor Hugo Caballero Gutiérrez, Director of the South Californian Institute of Culture of the State of BCS.
