Local musician invited to play in France

The concert will take place on May 13 at the Opéra Grand theater in Avignon. The musician will be in Avignon from May 10 to 13 for orchestra rehearsals.

Bernardo Izcalli Virgen Barragán, has been selected to play as a guest in an orchestra in France, under the direction of Laurent Petitgirard at the Orchestre National d’Avignon-Provence.

Bernardo is studying his last year of cello at the Instituto de Enseñanza Superior de Música Europa y Mediterráneo (IESM). The Institute has as part of its educational program this full immersion activity; it consists of selecting the best students to play as guest musicians in different orchestras.

He is very excited about this project because it is aimed at children and has already integrated exchange activities between elementary schools in France and Los Cabos.

Bernardo has told us that as a soloist he will be presenting concerts on May 16th and 19th in the cities of Cabries and Marseille respectively and that on June 21st in the Musicatreize hall in the city of Marseille he will be evaluated to receive his National Superior Professional Musician Diploma. In this exam he will present a 45 minutes concert and the program will be evaluated by a jury.
