Branded a cow and her calf, but they did not belong to him

The accused arrived at a ranch in Santo Domingo, and marked a cow and her calf as his property without authorization; he was sued and now faces the legal consequences.

José Guadalupe “N” was indicted for the crime of cattle rustling, which, according to his investigation file, he committed on May 26, 2020 on a ranch called “La Higuerita” in Comondú.

According to the case file, the act took place in Ejido Santo Domingo, where the accused marked a cow and its calf as his property without the authorization of the legitimate owner and to the detriment of the victim’s property.

For this reason, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Abigeato Crime Unit provided evidence that allowed the Control Judge to prosecute the accused, as required by law in response to the complaint filed by the offended party.

In the initial hearing, the Control Judge found him to be related to the act; however, he did not determine precautionary measures and established 3 months for the complementary investigation to be carried out.
