Los Cabos has just over 2.6 million seats booked by foreigners by 2022; surpassed by two Mexican destinations
According to estimates by the Official Airline Guide (OAG), more than 31.9 million seats are scheduled to travel to Mexico in 2022, with San Jose del Cabo being the third most requested destination in the country by foreigners.
In this regard, the list of destinations preferred by foreign tourists was revealed, among which are: Cancun, first place with 7.9 million scheduled seats; Mexico City, in second place, with 5.6 million scheduled trips and, in third place, San Jose del Cabo with 2.6 million seats.
Among the regions with the most air bookings scheduled for 2022 are North America, Europe, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Asia, representing 26% more than scheduled in 2021, according to Federal Tourism data.
Of the total number of seats booked, 77.8% belong to North America, that is, around 24.8 million seats; of these, 22.6 million come from the United States (91.3%) and 2.1 million from Canada.
