Surveys will be conducted in Los Cabos to know the reality of children working on the streets.

Through the Program of Attention to Minors and Adolescents at Risk, they intend to know their situation in detail.

Los Cabos, BCS.- Through the Program of Attention to Minors and Adolescents at Risk (PAMAR), we seek to know the reality of the children who work on the street, since it is their way of living and help their parents, because they are not originally from Los Cabos.

The president of the Sistema para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF) Los Cabos, Flora Aguilar de Leggs, said that now that Covid has a green light, although care must continue to be taken, PAMAR staff, with the support of social workers, will interview minors and their parents.

He reiterated that “we must know the real situation, since it is not because they want to be on the street, as children they help their parents. It is their way of living, they are not originally from Baja California Sur and they come in search of better living conditions”.

Flora Aguilar de Leggs, emphasized that we must find a way to reintegrate them into their homes, but we must give them the necessary tools so that they can succeed.

However, no date was given as to when these surveys or studies will be ready in order to know the reality of children and adolescents who work on the streets, especially in the tourist zone until late at night.
