Taco Fest Los Cabos, the gastronomic festival that promotes one of the most popular culinary preparations in Mexico, is back. The 2021 edition managed to captivate the most demanding palates of both residents and tourists.
The exciting event hosted by Chef David Sanz took place on Friday, December 17th at the Casa Dorada Hotel, the official headquarters of Taco Fest. This was its 4th edition, after a year of absence due to the pandemic, and was attended by more than 1,400 people.
This year, the Taco Fest had Lady Tacos de Canasta a well-known muxe Mexican chef for videos on social media, as well as stands of different styles of tacos, representing hotels, restaurateurs and popular taqueros. There were 30 exhibitor booths, of which 25 booths competed for the Best Taco award.
The diners, among them a significant number of residents, as well as foreign tourists had the opportunity to taste in one place, the best tacos in Baja. There they tasted tacos de canasta de frijol, papa, carne deshebrada y chicarrón, pork carnitas tacos, tacos de maciza con chamorro y chicharrón de pulpo, ground beef tacos, ribeye taco with marrow, among other styles.
First place was awarded by the jury to the Hard Rock Group stand, second place to Las Cazuelas Chilangas restaurant, and third place to Taqueria El Compirri. The public award went to the restaurant La Valentina.
