Volunteers who protect sea turtles and sea cocks in Los Cabos are finalists for national award

Since 2009, the “National Award for Voluntary and Solidarity Action” was created to recognize the work and solidarity of people who help, this year 2021, a group of 23 volunteers from Los Cabos are finalists.

An autonomous group of 23 volunteers participating in the conservation of sea turtles and sea cocks in Los Cabos, with a 17-year trajectory, are finalists in the group category of the “National Award for Voluntary and Solidarity Action”.

During the call for the 2021 National Award, the former councilwoman Tabita Rodríguez Morales, knowing and recognizing the great trajectory of the group, nominated the group of people to participate in the award.

On November 14, a representative of the evaluation committee visited the project and informed that the volunteers are finalists.

The evaluation committee visited the nesting areas, and attested to the participating volunteers, including women, men, boys, girls, young people, seniors; representatives from Baja California Sur and various states of the Republic, including volunteers from Italy, Uruguay, Chile, the United States, Canada and France, who unselfishly contribute time and resources to work in the recovery of protected species.
