President announces major investment in baja california sur mine

The President of Mexico had a brief visit to Exportadora de Sal in Guerrero Negro and in La Paz at the phosphate rock mine; “we are cleaning the company of corruption”, he said.

“We were in Guerrero Negro at the salt exporter, a public company that we are cleaning of corruption to make it more profitable for the benefit of the workers and the municipality of Mulegé in Baja California Sur,” said the national executive.

Faced with the possibility of a closure at the company, which is the largest, if not the only employer in the region, the President of Mexico assured them that the company would not close, but he did ask for their help in order not to continue to feed corruption “because it is Mexico’s problem, not just this company’s,” he said.

After his brief stay in the north of the state, López Obrador appeared in San Juan de la Costa, at the phosphate rock mine, where, together with the company’s authorities and workers, he pointed out that this mine supplies the fertilizer required for the country’s agriculture.

“We are in La Paz […] it is a phosphoric stone mine, which is a mine that is used to make fertilizers, the fertilizer to produce food, and this fertilizer is being delivered to farmers, especially to farmers in Guerrero, Pueblo, Morelos, Tlaxcala, Chiapas, Zacatecas, Nayarit and Durango, to produce corn and beans,” he revealed.

Therefore, he stressed the importance of supporting the project, because the mine “was abandoned, but now we are going to invest so that it can continue producing and extracting raw material”, and thus continue generating jobs, he said.
